I'm not trying to become new — I'm learning to live like what God already made me.
Grace doesn't just remove stains — grace dresses you in new garments.
Putting off is not me trying to kill the old man. It's me agreeing with God that the old man was crucified with Christ — and walking in the Spirit as if it's true, because it is.
You don't put on the new to get accepted — you put it on because you already are accepted in Christ.
The old man is dethroned, not silent. Sin is broken, not absent. You are new in nature — but your mind and habits still need the renewing that only grace can supply.
Sanctification is not earned by effort. It is lived from union with Christ.
